Thibaud Boudignon Savennières "Clos Devant Le Jeu" '23

New wine alert! Clos Devant Le Jeu is the newest cuvée in Thibaud Boudignon’s cellar. The two-hectare vineyard sits just below Clos de Frémine, though the soils have a darker, denser gray schist. Thibaud began planting the site in 2020 and completed the remaining half in 2023, making this a project still very much in its infancy. Every vine was established through massal selection from some of the Loire Valley’s finest estates, a deliberate choice that favors genetic diversity, small berries, and naturally low yields over the uniformity of clonal material. Vinification is similar to the others, although there is no new oak used for this cuvée. A beautiful wine.
