We’re your personal wine shoppers, here to help you drink better than you ever have, and without any attitude. Even if you can’t make it to the store, you can receive our personal recommendations through our weekly newsletter and have wine delivered to you.
Competitive Prices
Perman sells wine “backwards.” We’ll tell you what wines we’re excited about, but we don’t stock it until you order it. Because we’re not saddled by costly inventory or wine that doesn’t move, we can offer top wines at lower prices.
Our Store
Craig Perman opened his original Chicago location in 2007 in the West Loop (closed in March 2018), with a focus on providing a welcoming, relaxing place to buy great wine from the top regions in the world. In 2017, we opened our new location in the Near North neighborhood. The new Perman Wine has more selection, a beautiful event space for tastings and 10 dedicated parking spaces (entrance on Elm St, marked "Xavier Retail Parking). Stop by to shop for wine, craft spirits, beer and sake.

Craig Perman
Owner
Craig began his journey into wine after attending the University of Oregon. His professional career in Portland began at The Heathman Restaurant, before moving on to work in his first retail job at The Cellar Door. Returning to his native Chicago, he was introduced to the Chicago retail wine scene at Sam's Wine & Spirits. He re-entered the restaurant business working at the critically acclaimed Alinea in their first year of service. Further stints at Blackbird and Avec, solidified his relationships with the Chicago restaurant scene. Craig opened Perman Wine Selections in the West Loop in September of 2007. In October 2017, he opened his second store in the Near North neighborhood of Chicago.
