Tenuta La Viola "P. Honorii" Romagna Sangiovese Riserva Bertinoro '16

Year in and year out this is one of the finest Romagna Sangiovese around. Bertinoro is one of Romagna's most beautiful palaces. Stefano Gabellini is so proud of his heritage and his winery, located just outside the village. They have been farming organically since 1999, and it shows in the depth and complexity of the wine. This is the top wine Sangiovese produced at Tenuta La Viola, coming from a 1 ha parcel of old-vines. This sees a 21 day maceration in stainless steel and is aged in a combination of 3000 and 500 liter oak barrels. It spends 16 months in bottle after barrel. This is a special bottle, that can be drunk now with decanting, but will age for many years to come. Just 5000 bottles produced. Exceptional!
