Tenuta Casali "Villa Zappi" Rosato Rubicone NV

Perhaps surprisingly, there are many great, and oftentimes affordable, sparkling wines being produced from the Sangiovese grape in Romagna. Tenuta Casali is a family affair, and each of its wines is authentic and, most importantly, delicious, I mean it. We will explore many more of these wines on the newsletters in the future, but I couldn't wait to introduce you to the Villa Zappi Rosato Rubicone. A Rosé Sparkling wine, made entirely from Sangiovese from their Palazzina vineyard. Softly pressed, with a few hours of maceration, it is produced in the Charmat method. The wine is aged for 8 months in tank, with several battonage before it is bottled.  Incredibly fresh, with notes of creamed strawberry and rhubarb. This is round, with soft bubbles, pure fruit and a long, dry finish.
