Rousset-Martin "Cuvée 909 en Beuzard" Pinot Noir, Côtes du Jura '22

François Rousset-Martin came at wine young - hopping between his childhood home in Burgundy where his father worked as a microbiologist, and the family vineyard tended by his grandfather in Jura. With this vineyard access, Rousset-Martin wound up working in Jura himself, but his approach to vinifying each small climat separately shows off a distinctly Burgundian sensibility. In fact, the wine is even cheekily named for an inverse of his own pilgrimage, commemorating the year in 909 when the Jurassian monks left Jura for Burgundy.

Fittingly, his approach to Pinot Noir also maintains the nervy edge and floral delicacy associated with Pinot from Jura, without losing the deep, Earthy core so classic to that more famous appellation a little ways to the West.
