From the last vintage of the legendary Fruilian winemaker Stanko Radikon's life, the 2019 Oslavje blend of Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc showcases the classic style on which he built his reputation.
As with all of his white wines, the Oslavje (named for his hometown right across the border from Slovenia) sees several months of skin contact before 3-4 years aging on its lees in large format Slovenian Oak botti before several more years aging in bottle. As always for Radikon, no fining or filtration.
The results speak for themselves - the lift of dried flower petals married to a deep earthiness, laden with orange zest and fleshy stone fruits, with an acidic snap and insistent tannins reminiscent of black tea.
