It's work everyone! When I travel, I try to immerse myself in a wine region or country. I visit a range of producers, from ones that I know and already sell in the store, to producers that aren't available in Chicago.
Last October, I travelled to Oregon, to catch up and visit old friends, and see some unfamiliar producers.
One of the very best tastings and experiences I had was with Tyson Crowley of Crowley Wines. Tyson is no young upstart, as he has worked in the business for many years, including stints as assistant winemaker at Cameron for 5 years. It was at Cameron in 2005 that he made his first four barrels of wine. Eventually he moved in 2007 to the August Cellars Studio, and now makes around 85 barrels total of excellent Chardonnay and Pinot Noir per year.
Come taste his full range of wines, including his Willamette Valley Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, two cuvée's of Chardonnay and three single vineyard Pinot Noir.
