In Radda, in the heart of the Chianti Classico region of Tuscany, sits this beautiful winery surrounded by forests and olive trees, speckled with old farmhouses and a 12th-century church. The winery has been farmed by the Lanza family since the 1970s and is primarily focused on the titan of Tuscan grapes: Sangiovese. They practice organic farming and use biodynamic practices as well.
The Chianti Classico 2022 is made solely of Sangiovese, grown on south-southwest facing rocky galestro soils, at 500 meters in elevation. The grapes are hand-harvested and destemmed. The wine ferments and macerates for 35 days in concrete tanks, and is then racked into neutral Slavonian and French oak barrels, where it matures for twelve months before bottling. An excellent expression of Chianti to enjoy now or to stock up on for later!
