    Massolino Dolcetto d'Alba '23

    The Massolino winery, located in the village of Serralunga d’Alba, is one of Italy’s greatest wine treasures. This historic producer began in 1896 under the leadership of Giovanni Massolino, and continues today under the watchful eyes of Franco and Roberto Massolino. The Massolino Dolcetto receives the same care and attention to detail as their Nebbiolo, especially since Dolcetto is the “everyday” red of Piemonte. The Langa tradition proclaims Dolcetto to be ideal with all courses of a meal, and we couldn’t agree more! It is perfect for snacks of cured meats and cheeses, or at the beginning of a meal, served with appetizers (other than fish). Main courses like pasta, rice, soup and red meats, particularly when grilled, enhance the body and fruit characteristics of the grape. (hungry yet?) Expect bright cherry, raspberry and cocoa on the nose, layered with hints of almond and peppercorn. The palate is soft with plenty of acidity, but not as much as you get with Nebbiolo. You can even drink it with a light chill.
