Marquis d'Angerville Bourgogne Blanc '23

Based in Volnay in the heart of the Côte de Beaune, Domaine Marquis d’Angerville is one of Burgundy’s benchmark, family-run estates, farming about 16.5 hectares (with a deep focus on Volnay 1er Cru, including the famed Clos des Ducs) and working biodynamically since the late 2000s. Their Bourgogne Blanc 2023 is true domaine wine, sourced from a small 0.35 ha parcel in eastern Volnay on deep, clay-rich soils (low in limestone), with roughly 30-year-old vines, and it’s vinified with the same seriousness as their Meursault 1er Cru—a precise, quietly layered Chardonnay that’s all about tension, clarity, and mineral drive rather than overt oakiness.
