Hampden Estate is known for producing a large variety of distillates. Hampden HLCF Classic is a single mark, and a great introduction to the world of high esters rums.
HLCF stands for Hampden Light Continental Flavoured. It is one of several marks made at Hampden Estate and refers to a rum with a high ester concentration, ranging from 400 to 600 gr/HLPA.
The rum is marked by its power as shown by the 60% alcohol content. In spite of its strength, it remains refined and delicate, with toasty, woody and spicy aromas.
Profile: Exuberant and elaborate.
Nose: Lively and concentrated. Acetone, roasted banana, prune, lemon and menthol notes.
Palate: Intense and exquisite. Bitter orange, candied cherry, smoked and roasted notes.
Finish: Extended and delicate. Pine resin, cooked cane syrup and herbaceous notes.
