Goodfellow Family Cellars "Deux Vert" Syrah Reserve '15
“This wine was produced from vines planted in 1995, in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA in the Willamette Valley. 100% whole cluster, with a long cuvaison and the élevage in neutral 300-liter hogsheads for 30 months. Classic notes of violets, herb, roasted game meats, mulberry, and blackberry. This wine is very expressive right now, but rather weightless and supple (for Syrah), showing cool blue fruits in the mouth, bright floral acids around notes of coffee and dark spices. This wine is really entering into the beginning of its prime, delicious now but with many years ahead of it as well. It’s perfect for more full flavored foods. Co-fermented with 5% Viognier, 197 cases, 13.8% ABV.” —Marcus Goodfellow
