Loire Valley
While Provence takes most of the French rosé fame, there is something about the pink wines of the Loire Valley that makes them just as appealing. This exceptional rosé from Gérard Boulay is a beautiful expression of Pinot Noir from one of the best artisan producers in the region of Sancerre. Boulay’s rosé is produced from old vines, 35-40 years in age, planted in clay, just outside his home in the village of Chavignol. This is a direct-press rosé, fermented and aged in tank with natural yeast. Young and vibrant, it shows notes of lemon and orange zest, cherry skin, and a flinty minerality. Incredibly vibrant and fresh on the palate.
