The single parcel of Iri’s Vineyard is located on the Gentilini estate, near the village of Minies, on the island of Kefalonia. It sits at 60 meters on the crest of a hill overlooking the deep blue Ionian sea and has a rocky, limestone terroir, with yields of 6,000 kg/ha.
Made from 100% Mavrodaphne of Kefalonia. Vinification and bottling are done at the Gentilini winery. The bunches are destemmed and lightly crushed. Fermentation and extraction are carried out in open vats. The grapes are gently pressed using a traditional manual basket press and the wine is allowed to sit on its lees for 3-4 months to develop complexity. This wine is neither fined nor filtered to avoid any removal of flavors.
