Domaine Migot "Côtes de Toul" Vin Gris Rosé '23

Domaine Migot is a terrific small estate in the Côtes de Toul, in Lorraine, in northeastern France. Though the Côtes de Toul was awarded AOC status in 1998, it remains largely unknown. There are two main reasons for this: first, the Côtes de Toul appellation is small, only about 100 hectares. Second, there are only a few really serious growers (perhaps only one?) looking to make wines that are more than simply good enough and cheap-ish. Camille Migot is most certainly serious.

The specialty of the region is probably vin gris, a waxy, deep, mouth-coating, salmon-tinged rosé that, despite its depth, quivers with acidity. Migot’s version, a blend of 50% each Pinot Noir and Gamay Noir, is almost incomprehensible in its combination of texture and power, with lightness and zing. This is one of our most delicious pink wine releases this year.
