Barbeito "Vinhas do Lanço" Verdelho '21
This special white wine comes from the Casa do Lanço property on the northern side of Madeira near São Vicente. “Vinhas do Lanço” is made from Verdelho grapes selected from different altitudes on the property, which are foot-trodden in the traditional lagar method. The wine is made in a combination of French barrique and stainless steel tank.
On the nose, “Vinhas do Lanço” shows zesty citrus and subtle toasted notes, with tropical fruit tones alongside apricot, pear, and orange blossoms. Strikingly fresh and taut, the wine has mouthwatering acidity, with a bright, stony minerality on the long, linear finish. Only 742 bottles produced.
Pair this with a classic fish dish from Madeira such as Espada Com Banana (scabbard fish, usually fried, with friend bananas on top) or Grilled Limpets in garlic butter.
