A Very Aligoté Saturday

Aligoté is the other white grape variety of Burgundy. But as Rodney Dangerfield famously said, it gets no respect. The aligoté of yesteryear was a "throwaway" wine, usually diluted and showing merely fruit and acidity, without character. That is why it is famously blended with crème de cassis for a kir.
Like Chardonnay, Aligoté is a very transparent variety, showcasing its terroir and even vinification style. Aligoté has gained in popularity in recent years, and some of the top producers of Burgundy make serious, complex Aligoté. So it is time to gave it a chance to shine.
In that spirit, on Saturday, July 19, we welcome you to stop by and taste a range of Aligoté wines from several great producers. This will be an informal tasting, and we ask that you RSVP so that we know how many people to plan for and can ensure that we have an excellent lineup for you to try. Your tasting should take 15 to 30 minutes. Don't miss this Aligoté Saturday!
