    Ritme Celler Priorat '17

Ritme Celler is a project begun in the early 2010s by Albert Jané, with a focus on making wine that expresses the unique terroir of Priorat. Jané, whose other wine projects include Acústic and Autòcton Cellers, is a native of the town El Vendrell, in Penedès, and is part of a family that has been involved in wine since the early 20th century.

After many years working alongside his father and brother, he set out on his own to start Acústic Celler in Montsant. His first couple years he borrowed some winery space from a friend, the owner of Vendrell Rived. His wines quickly got noticed, with great reviews from many of the top wine publications in both Spain and the United States. This early success led him to the DOQ Priorat, where he began this label called "Ritme." Currently, Ritme is based on the organic cultivation of almost 20 hectares, 14 of which are estate owned, while the rest are leased vineyards throughout the appellation, including in Gratallops, Bellmunt del Priorat, Coll de Porrera, El Lloar, and, in front of the winery itself, La Vilella Alta.

The 2017 “Ritme” is made from the indigenous varieties Cariñena (70%) and Garnatxa (30%), which are harvested by hand. The wine is aged for 10 months in French oak barrels.

Pretty aromas of dark fruit, flowers, and spice. Medium plus in body, with a well-balanced attack of dark and red berries, herbs, soft tannins, and a long, vibrant finish. Drink this alongside grilled rack of lamb.
