Lytton Springs is on the eastern benchlands of the Dry Creek Valley appellation, north of Healdsburg in Sonoma County, and the 2020 is a blend of estate grapes—79% Zinfandel, 11% Petite Sirah, and 10% Carignane. The grapes were sustainably grown, hand harvested, and destemmed. Fermentation was carried out with native yeasts, and the wine was aged for 13 months in barrel. Notes of blackberry, plum, and aniseed lead into a full-bodied palate, with a long finish and layers of brambly fruit, black licorice, and dried sage.
