Quinta do Mouro "Dourado" Gold Label Tinto, Alentejo '18

If you go to Portugal, dining in the top restaurants, with the best wine lists, one name you are sure to see is Qunta do Mouro. One of the legends of Alentejo based in Estremoz. This is their very top wine, made only in exceptional vintages. A blend of 40% Alicante Bouschet, 25% Aragonez, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Touriga Nacional, and 10% Trincadeira, this small-production red is one of Portugal's greatest. The nose shows notes of ripe red and black fruit, plum, mocha, and sage. On the palate, the texture is velvety, with well-balanced tannins and acidity, well-integrated oak, and a long, fresh finish. Really a magical wine, that any fan of Bordeaux or the great wines of Napa would love!
