Maison Valette "Vieilles Vignes" Blanc Vin de France '15
What really separates Maison Valette from many of its neighbors is its incredible old vines of Chardonnay. At this estate, 60-to-70-year-old vines are the norm. The combination of vine maturity and the estate’s farming practices produces incredibly concentrated and complex fruit. The 2015 “Vieilles Vignes” is dominated by citrus and green and yellow apple on the nose, and with a round texture on the palate. Decant the wine for an hour, or drinking it over the course of a couple of days.
