Les Pallières Gigondas Rosé “Au Petit Bonheur” '18
Internationally acclaimed importer, Kermit Lynch, alongside Brunier brothers, Daniel and Frédéric (of the famed Vieux Télégraphe in Châteauneuf-du-Pape) took a leap of faith about 20 years ago when they purchased the historic Les Pallières winery, with vineyard history dating back to the 15th century. While once historic, the winery was left to despair, but with these masterminds, it's no surprise that what may have been a gamble turned into a huge success. After much replanting and renovating, Les Pallières puts out three cuvées each year - two site-specific reds and one rosé. We've carried the reds in the past, so now is your chance to try their rosé, also considering this offer is a steal! The rosé utilizes younger vines of Grenache, Clairette and Cinsault, procuring such bright, lively fruit - in its youth, so full of bold primary notes. The wine also doesn't undergo malolactic fermentation, keeping the wine zippy and full of energy. Expect classic Southern French rosé notes of wild strawberry and raspberry, hints of Mediterranean herbs and fresh floral notes. This is a very light rosé in hue, for those searching for light and delicate in style. A perfect apéritif.
