Le Vigne di Zamò Ribolla Gialla '21

Le Vigne di Zamò is a family-owned winery located in Manzano, a winegrowing area in Friuli Venezia Giulia. The brothers Pierluigi and Silvano Zamò inherited the estate from their father, Tullio, and together with Brigitte, SIlvano’s wife, have elevated Le Vigne di Zamò to one of the top producers in the area. Along with the traditional white varieties that dominate the hills of Friuli Colli Orientali—such as Ribolla Gialla, Sauvignon and Pinot Grigio — Le Vigne di Zamò is one of the few wineries of this area with 40% of the production focused on red indigenous varieties, some of them very rare, such as Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso and Schioppettino.

The 2021 harvest is the first that is organic certified for the winery, although it has always been focused on sustainability both in the vineyards and the cellar.

This wine is made solely from Ribolla Galla, the classic grape variety of Friuli. The grapes are fully destemmed and pressed immediately after arriving at the winery. Fermentation is carried out in stainless steel, followed by eight months of aging in tank.

This beautiful wine has notes of apple skin, lime zest and mineral on the nose and the palate. There is both texture and freshness in this complex wine. Pair this alongside Spaghetti alle Vongole.
