Champagne
A blend of 50% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay, and 20% Pinot Meunier, from vines with an average age of 35 years. The fruit is from Montagne de Riems (Villedommange and Ludes 1er Cru) and Vitriat (Vavray le Grand), on clay-limestone soils. The viticulture is organic, with limited tilling, no herbicides, and organic composts. The rosé is made from the same base as Invitation with 30% reserve wine (but with more Chardonnay), enhanced with some still red wine (~5%). Separate vinification of villages, varieties, and parcels. Primary aging in tanks (92%) and in barrels (8%), partial malolactic fermentation, aged for 2 years on lattes. (Beck Wasserman & Co.)
