Baudry Chinon "Grézeaux" Rouge '21
The Cabernet Franc for “Les Grézeaux” is from a parcel of 60-year-old vines on gravel over clay, sand, and limestone. Fermentation took place in cement tank, and the wine was aged for 15 months in concrete. Expect notes of blackberries, forest floor, and stones, and pair it with dishes incorporating lentils and mushrooms, or with a simple roast chicken. For Loire Valley Cab Franc enthusiasts, this is worth getting six bottles so you can try now, but also age a few. Delicious as a young wine, it can also be aged for at least a decade.
